Artworks that I made for a first-year university project where the objective was creating a board-game. Tropical Trial is a social deduction board-game that can be played in 5-10 players, who are all given the role of either survivor or traitor. Stranded on an island, the survivors must work together to gather resources and escape the island, while the traitors must sabotage the escape plan.
The board is hex-based and each hex represents a resource that can be depleted, thus the two versions for each hex (full/depleted). The ship represents the escape and must be repaired.
Our characters have a fun, simple look based on masks, so they can be easily told apart.
Overall, the art I made for the project had a simple, cartoonish and light-hearted look and feel to it. I had fun making the assets for the game, the final versions as well as the concept.
